Performing contemporary Rock and R&B, Mongrel Mix engages audiences with a fusion of Blues, Rock, Latin, Jazz, and Funk with Afro-Cuban rhythms. Our music is intensely passionate and ranges from acoustic folk tales to angular post-pop and rock. We are a global band with a global sound straight out of Philadelphia: city of brotherly love.

Mongrel Mix is a ground breaking phenomenon, covering the territory from genuine roots to funk. Their first album, Predatory Heat, was a steamy blend of savvy and soul, emotion and wit. The collection in Predatory Heat speaks of what's happening now- but with the knowledge borne of old souls. Composer Barry Preston pairs his music with lyrics written with a poet's hand and a realist's voice. Thoughts, deeds and almost done deals are conveyed with the emotion that is the heart of Mongrel Mix.
